Introduction
Acute coronary syndrome (ACS) remains a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, prompting frequent emergency department (ED) visits for evaluation of chest pain and related symptoms. Timely and accurate diagnosis is critical to optimize patient outcomes and ED resource utilization. Cardiac troponins (cTn) are the biomarker cornerstone for myocardial injury detection, with high-sensitivity assays enabling earlier and more precise risk stratification. However, conventional testing relies on central laboratories, which can delay result availability and extend ED length of stay (LOS), contributing to patient flow inefficiencies and healthcare costs.
