Aspirin use was associated with a significantly lower risk of incident AVC and severe AS among persons with high Lp(a), but no benefit was observed in those with elevated LDL cholesterol (LDL-C).
This suggests aspirin’s antithrombotic and anti-fibrinolytic properties may mitigate valve calcification processes specifically linked to Lp(a)-mediated disease pathways.
