Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) remains one of the most lethal malignancies worldwide, often presenting at an unresectable stage (uHCC). In recent years, the treatment landscape has shifted dramatically with the introduction of conversion therapy—typically a combination of immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) and tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). The primary goal of conversion therapy is to downstage the tumor, enabling curative-intent hepatectomy.
