This study investigates the influence of a dedicated research year on the scholarly productivity of otolaryngology residency applicants in 2025. Key findings include a modest increase in total research products among applicants who undertook a research year, primarily due to unpublished work and middle-author contributions. There was no significant difference in the number of published articles or first-author manuscripts between those with and without a research year.
