Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD), previously known as non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD), is rapidly becoming one of the most prevalent chronic liver conditions worldwide, associated with obesity, type 2 diabetes, and metabolic syndrome.
